Privacy notice

For building firms we contact about Quotebutton, and for firms that use it. UK GDPR Article 14 applies because we obtain contact details from public sources rather than from you directly.

Who we are

What we hold about a firm, and why

Your company name and company number, from Companies House. Your website and a role email address (such as info@ or enquiries@), from your own website. We only contact limited companies and LLPs, and we prefer role addresses over named ones. We use these details for one purpose: to tell you about Quotebutton and, if you reply, to answer you.

Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)): business-to-business marketing of a service relevant to building firms, sent to corporate subscribers as permitted by regulation 22 of the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003. You can object at any time (see “How to stop”), and we will stop.

Who else sees it: Anthropic's Claude service processes the text of emails we send and receive so Sam can draft and sort them, and Cloudflare serves this website. Both act as our processors under contract. Anthropic may process data outside the UK; that transfer is covered by Anthropic's standard data-processing and international transfer terms. We do not sell or share your details with anyone else.

How long we keep it

If you do not reply, your contact details are anonymised 90 days after our last email to you. If you ask us to stop, we keep your address on our suppression list indefinitely so that we never contact you again; that list holds nothing else about you.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct, erase or restrict it, and object to our using it. Email hello@quotebutton.co.uk and we will answer within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

If you use Quotebutton

Your enquiries, drawings and quotes stay in your firm's own quoting mailbox and are used only to produce your quotes. They are never used for anything else. The platform terms and the platform privacy notice are at mailbuttons.com/privacy.

How to stop

Reply STOP to any email Sam sent you, or use the stop page. Either one puts you on the suppression list before Sam sends anything else, and always by the next working morning.
