Your rate card
Every figure in a quote comes from your rate card, so every quote uses the same numbers.
What a rate card is here
A list of the things you price — a metre of footing, a square metre of plasterboard, a steel beam — each with a labour rate and a material rate. Sam assembles them into the packages you actually build: an extension, a loft, a kitchen, a bathroom, a pitched roof, a driveway or patio. A table of rates in a spreadsheet is what most builders already have in their heads; this writes it down once so every quote uses the same numbers.
| Item | Unit | Labour | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| Strip foundation | metre | your rate | your rate |
| Plasterboard and skim | square metre | your rate | your rate |
| Steel beam, supplied and fitted | each | your rate | your rate |
| First fix electrics | point | your rate | your rate |
| Block and brick wall | square metre | your rate | your rate |
The starter card for your first quote
Your first quote is priced from typical local rates so you can see a finished quote before you have told us anything. They are a starting point, not your prices — you will want to change them. Every line in the draft shows where its figure came from.
How you change a rate
Send us your rate sheet and we load it for you, usually the same day. To change a line on a particular quote, reply to the draft with the change.
Why Sam never invents a rate
If a line has no rate on your card, it is shown as an allowance or flagged for you. The AI writes the description; the sums are done in code from your card. A quote with a made-up rate in it is worse than no quote, so it does not happen.
